The Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, an institution of the Parisian music and opera scene, was one of the first French theaters to install a computerized control system for its fly system. The system, installed in 1994 by Nobel, combined with high-quality hydraulic mechanics, performed brilliantly for over 25 years. Unfortunately, faced with the obsolescence of the software and hardware components of the control system, the theater asked dUCKS sceno to conduct a technical feasibility study for replacing the control system. After several months of study and diagnosis, the report presented recommends the total replacement of the control system while retaining the hydraulic mechanics, subject to the upgrading of a number of safety components. The report is supplemented by planning and estimation elements to aid decision-making.The control system renovation work was carried out by the theater in 2021 with the installation of a Bosch Rexroth SYB3.0 system and the adaptation of the existing hydraulic mechanics.
