Scenography

The Cormontreuil cultural and sports complex integrates a cultural hall, a sports complex, a club house and coworking spaces in a “Grande Maison”. The project is articulated in three buildings with iridescent shells, deliberately expressing an innovative materiality while providing overall coherence. The auditorium is a flared volume. It is designed to be comfortable, practical and adaptable for festive events, shows, concerts, dance and conferences. From the entrance hall, spectators discover a clear, architectural space. The floor and stage are on the same level, facilitating technical and artistic flows. A few rows of telescopic seating extend from the fixed tier. It folds away into a dedicated alcove, making it easy to extend the proscenium or accommodate flat chairs and tables. The seating arrangement is centered on the heart of the room, making it compact and convivial. An upper walkway, accessible by elevator, provides an ideal position for the control room, and offers disabled-accessible spaces in addition to the parterre. The scenic ceiling features a network of walkways and a highly functional false hanging grid. The whole system overhangs the stage area, providing the essential infrastructure for hanging sliding gantries, curtains, screens, projectors and sound systems. The scenic networks are compatible with the latest digital technologies and protocols.
