Scenography

The challenge of the scenography lies in transforming the Raphaël-de-Barros hall (gymnasium) into a welcoming and poetic space that reflects the identity of the Book Festival. At the heart of this metamorphosis, cardboard emerges as the key protagonist, embodying warmth, eco-responsibility, and modularity. The choice of cardboard creates a warm and friendly atmosphere. Large-format kakemonos, emblems of the festival, are hung around the perimeter of the hall, concealing the bleachers and redesigning the space while instilling a unique identity. These visual supports create an immersive backdrop, displaying an aesthetic and a signature. They feature illustrations created by the Emile Cohl school each year based on the themes.Modularity becomes a key element of the experience, with furniture and signage designed to adapt to the changing needs of the event. Cost control, desired without compromising quality, is embodied in the thoughtful choice of cardboard. Not only economical, this material also meets recycling criteria, reflecting the festival’s eco-responsible commitment.
