Scenography
The Fondation Cartier moves from Boulevard Raspail to the former Louvre in 2025 in the old Louvre of antiquaries where a 16 000 m² commercial shell was delivered in 2023 by SFL. This new museum dedicated to creation and contemporary art offers 8 000 m² of exhibition space in the heart of Paris. The museum’s central nave consists of 5 mobile floors, totalling more than 1 000 m² and weighing between 250 and 400 tons each, which offers the possibility of completely reconfiguring the exhibition spaces on 3 levels. The mechanical system is fully automated, managing platform movement and removable guardrails according to different configurations. The mechanical system is fully managed by safety automation systems that control the platforms and removable railings depending on the configurations. Each floor is equipped with museum scenography systems, hanging systems, lighting and audiovisual equipment for the installation of the Foundation’s exhibitions. The museum is a real exhibition machine, offering each event a new perspective on the building and the works presented to the public. The museum also has a modular auditorium of 180 seats that can accommodate screenings, conferences and small concerts. The telescopic seating allows the seats to be retracted to provide additional exhibition space. The auditorium is equipped with the latest lighting and audiovisual technologies for screenings and lectures.
