Scenography

The new Lafayette Anticipations space is designed as a
creation, innovation and research laboratory, dedicated
to artistic production and exhibitions. The architectural
intervention responds to a programmatic desire for flexibility,
while respecting heritage preservation requirements. A new
“curatorial” machine has been installed in the courtyard.
It consists of two superimposed mobile floors which move
vertically along racks attached to the metal structure and
split into two unequal parts creating a set of four mobile
platforms. Thanks to their on-board engine, the platforms
move independently along racks and can be parked at
any height. Always visible and potentially accessible from
the original building through its openings on courtyard,
their combination offers a wide repertoire of spatial and
programmatic configurations and multiplies the potential of
the place.
