Scenography
The permanent exhibition presents René Lalique’s entire body of work, including jewelry, drawings, perfume bottles, tableware, glass creations, and contemporary Lalique designs. After 10 years of operation, the permanent exhibition’s media tools (interactive terminals, the large wall of the Manufacture, video guide) have been redesigned as part of a comprehensive review of the visitor experience. The entrance and exit galleries are used as an extension of the exhibition, presenting an overview of the landscape and the resources needed to make glass at the entrance, and an encounter with contemporary glassmakers at the exit. A large animated map presents the history of glassmakers through Antiquity and the Middle Ages, with a focus on the glassmaking region of the Northern Vosges. New consultation tables in the “crossroads” areas offer a journey through Art Nouveau and the historical and artistic trends that influenced René Lalique. The content is simultaneously broadcast on a large screen, offering a broader view for the public. The large “La Manufacture” image wall (27 46-
inch screens) presents the craftsmanship in an aesthetic and contemplative way. More didactic explanations of the trades are provided in the exit gallery. New seating and consultation furniture has also been added in harmony with the existing permanent exhibition created by dUCKS scéno.
