Scenography

The lighthouse interpretation center is located on the 1st spur of the port of Brest. A resolutely modern architectural project, it is an observation center for maritime navigation, its heritage, codes, signs, and professions. The scenography works in synergy with the architecture. It is an encounter between discourse and space, between inside and outside, between shadow and light, between science and the realm of the senses, between observation and understanding. The preamble to the “Terre de Phares” exhibition begins in the reception hall. The projection literally crosses the lobby to the permanent exhibition space. This verticality recalls the verticality of the lighthouse and provides the monumental scale necessary to evoke its architecture, its “lights,” its signature, but also its environment and the forces of the elements, thus immersing the visitor in the marine world. The permanent exhibition is located on the upper floor facing the sea. The blue line, which supports the narrative and scenography, runs throughout the three sequences: the sea, people, and techniques, offering both unique experiences and a continuum. It is a place for all audiences, inviting discovery and travel.
