On the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Italian National Olympic Committee has chosen a symbolic location to host Casa Italia: the Pré Catelan, a Napoleon III-style building in the Bois de Boulogne. It was here that, on June 23, 1894, the dinner celebrating the birth of the modern Olympic Games, envisioned by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, took place.
Embracing the concept “Together,” Casa Italia transforms the Pré Catelan into a scenographic journey blending nature, art, architecture, and design. The architectural project connects the new with the old, the artificial with nature, following the idea of interlocking Olympic rings. The use of semi-transparent fabric creates a series of new rooms within the 19th-century architecture, mutually enriching the interior and exterior spaces. Iconic design elements, both past and contemporary, are harmoniously integrated using carefully chosen shapes, colors, and materials. Sustainability is emphasized through the use of natural and recycled fabrics, as well as furniture made from wood, terracotta, enamelled lava, raw fabrics, cellulose, and recycled plastic. The press room will have a zero-impact footprint. Light, a fundamental element, creates an immersive experience.

Taking part in projects on an international scale, dUCKS scéno is expressing its desire to get closer to Italy through the creation of an “Italian News” blog. The aim is to share our favourites from the Italian cultural scene on a monthly basis: events that we haven’t necessarily taken part in, but which we have enjoyed.
