Scenography
The project proposes a place conceived as a space for passage, dialogue, and discovery. Guided by the collector’s vision, the visitor journey creates unexpected connections between artworks, cultures, and time periods. At the heart of the project, two perspectives converge: that of the collector, intuitive and subjective, shaped through sensitive associations between works; and that of the visitor, which develops, refines itself, and experiences wonder throughout the visit.
The visitor experience unfolds as a sensory journey between architecture, collections, and landscape. From the park onward, visitors gradually enter a fluid and open museum-landscape, alternating intimate encounters with artworks, views towards the exterior, and spaces for pause and contemplation. Visible storage areas, backstage spaces, and areas linked to the collector also reveal the museum as a living organism, inhabited by artworks, professions, and conservation practices.
The project is structured around five major collections: 20th-century Fine Arts, Classical and Egyptian archaeology, Pre-Columbian and Oceanic ethnology, Decorative Arts, and Contemporary African and Diaspora Art. This diversity supports a transversal approach in which artworks engage in dialogue beyond traditional categories.
Three major typologies structure the experience: a semi-permanent reference exhibition conceived as the museum’s backbone; a dedicated Fine Arts route designed to evolve and renew itself over time; and temporary exhibitions conceived as spaces for experimentation and renewal. Together, they create an experience accessible to all audiences, where emotion, perception, and the relationship with artworks prevail over any purely didactic approach.
