Montpellier City Hall is part of a comprehensive urban project aimed at extending the city towards the sea. Beyond its aesthetics, it is an eco-friendly, energy-efficient building designed to be accessible to people with all types of disabilities. The project involved providing technical assistance with the scenographic elements for the council chamber, the large reception hall—which also serves as a wedding hall—and the public reception area. The uniqueness of these spaces lies in the concept of stretched canvases on the ceiling, each designed as a veritable fresco. The council chamber has another unique feature: located in the center of the main façade, it has a large opening onto the city. Its ceiling is equipped with a roll-up screen system that can be used to obscure the space for projections. The project also includes audio and video equipment, in particular an innovative touchscreen conference system, supervision systems, technical infrastructure, and the commissioning, testing, and adjustment of the installations. These technical improvements help to make the City Hall a modular and iconic building, confirming its status as a major work of contemporary architecture in the city.
