Auditorium Maurice Ravel - Diagnostic

A veritable “temple of music” inaugurated in 1975, the Maurice Ravel Auditorium was designed first and foremost for its audience: spacious, modern, futuristic, and built in the rapidly expanding Part-Dieu district. It was also designed with the intention of providing a respectable home for one of Europe’s most remarkable orchestras, now embodied by the Orchestre National de Lyon.
Several renovation and construction campaigns have punctuated the history of this hall. The stage and ceiling of the Auditorium were gradually equipped to meet changing scenographic and orchestral needs.
In 2025, the Auditorium – Orchestre National de Lyon wanted to have a comprehensive and expert overview of its stage equipment, with a view to a renovation and upgrading program. This preliminary and strategic step was entrusted to dUCKS scéno as part of a diagnosis of the hall’s upper and lower machinery.
Thanks to close collaboration with the technical team, this mission made it possible to characterize the level of stage equipment in terms of its age, maintenance, quality of use, and safety level. The assessment provided should make it possible to plan for the upgrading or replacement of machinery equipment in the short or long term.
