Scenography
The guiding «line» forms the path, it folds and unfolds into the picture rails supporting the works, the masterpieces, and the didactic discourse. This line guides the visitor [alone or in a group] and gives him the keys to understanding both the different sequences and the collections [the context, the environment, etc.]. The didactic sequence markers introduce each chronological and thematic sequence. The main challenge is to highlight the collections in a way that makes sense; to make the fragments of stones speak for themselves; to expose these «fragments» for what they are today [works of art, traces], to reveal what they were in a larger context, in their «whole» [part of a building, structural, symbolic, decorative elements etc.]. «The fragment is a piece of a thing that has been broken, shattered, torn, a part of a work of which the essential has been lost or which has not been composed and, more generally, the part of a whole» of the mediation supports and the audiovisual systems.
