Design of the layout and project management of the scenography for the permanent exhibition, including lighting, pedestals, handling, audiovisual and multimedia equipment.

Scenography

Spread over two floors in the former train station, the permanent exhibition covers the history of Suresnes in seven sections, displaying original objects and rare iconographic documents. The museum tour appeals to all the senses and uses new technologies to offer interactive presentations of the city’s transformation over the centuries, based on concrete examples and chronological landmarks. Upon entering, images of the city’s evolution are projected onto a topographical model. Further on, an olfactory terminal evokes the perfume industry, a film traces the city’s history, and touchscreen terminals guide visitors through the stages of garden city development. On the ground floor, display cases present the wine-growing village and industrial city. Taking the monumental staircase, where 50 portraits of residents emblematic of the city’s transformations are suspended in a giant mobile, visitors discover a different kind of museum display. Overlooked by a fabric canopy that draws attention and houses the lighting and projection equipment, four tables address the central theme of the MUS: the urban and social project designed and implemented by Henri Sellier during the interwar period in the Seine department.
