Scenography
The two screening rooms have relatively specific functions. Whether used independently or in conjunction with each other, they both play a kind of dialogue between the screening performance and the conviviality of the atmosphere. For each one, the scenographic treatment of the spaces and technical elements allows for a highly accurate response to the required functionalities.
The site’s layout guided the work on the organization of the project’s different levels. On the logistics side, from the covered technical courtyard, a truck-loading dock and a common junction area provide level access to the backstage area and its various dedicated technical rooms and the two stages. On the audience side, there is direct access from the middle of the site and the large terrace, which opens onto the two halls and the stalls of the two auditoriums.
The large auditorium is spread over a series of levels, galleries, and balconies with various mobile and fixed seating arrangements. A pit houses the main telescopic seating, which fills the pit when deployed. This means that the front rows of this seating can accommodate people with reduced mobility and the stage/audience ratio is adequate. The seating continues with two levels of galleries embracing the front of the stage.
Access to the small auditorium is at ground level between the lobby and the lower stalls. Wide steps and a ramp provide a continuous link to the upper stalls and the bar. Similarly, a ramp and stairs provide direct access to the stage, which is itself at ground level with the backstage areas.
